John,

I've been browsing your blog for the past couple of hours and I must say that I've learned a lot.

This particular post caught my eye. I'm curious what technique you used to get that attractive green halo around Mr. Gunn's head. I've seen similar things in Platon's president portraits, but he did some of them in post-production.

If I were to venture a guess, I'd say either a gridded, gelled background light or simply gridded or Fresnel on a green background. However, I can't figure out where the light is positioned in relation to the model. Perhaps you could reveal your magic in this one?

Thank you,
Andrei
