New Keatley Website

Posted by / Filed under News

I would like to officially announce with great enthusiasm the new John Keatley website is now live and open for business.  It features full support for all browsers and mobile devices, including the iPad.  One of my favorite features is the scalable image grid which sorts itself to fill the screen regardless of the users screen size and resolution.  Re-sizing your browser with the site open will also shuffle the grid on the fly.  The blog has been rebuilt and integrated into the site and there is a new video section as well.  The site is 100% Flash free.  Not that I have anything against Flash, but it seemed like the best way to move forward to maximize compatibility, as well as to avoid a separate mobile site.

It was a thrill to have my previous site published in the 2010 PDN Annual as one of the top photography websites.  Many people have commented that they loved that site and I shouldn’t change it.  I liked it too, and it was perfect for what I needed at the time.  But as I assessed my goals for moving forward and figured out what I needed from a website, I decided it was time to do something new.  Once I realize something can be made better, I have a hard time not acting on it.  I guess I am never satisfied.  It’s a blessing and a curse.

A very big thank you goes out to designer Greg Lutze for once again doing an incredible job, and developer Benjamin Borowski at Typeoneerror Studios who worked pure magic.

With all that being said, please click around and have a look at the site as well as some of my new work.  I am sure a few bugs will pop up here and there, as well as ideas for changes.  I would love to hear your feedback in the comments, good and bad.  Thanks.

I love that it's non flash based, and the static header and footer really work without getting in the way. The jagged images at the bottom throw off the eye a little, but that could be remedied fairly easily.
